Ocoee Christmas Parade on 12/7 at 10AM

On Saturday, December 7th the Ocoee Lions Club will host the Ocoee Christmas Parade.  The parade starts at 10AM and the route is included in the map to the left.

If you wish to enter just click on the  Christmas Parade Registration Form link and fill out the form. There is not an entry fee to enter but there is a request of a donation of a NEW toy (or monetary equivalent) to support the Holiday Toys for Kids in Need toy drive that is being hosted by the Ocoee Policy Department.

This year our Grand Marshal for the parade will be Dr. Jeffrey Redding, Choir Director, with West Orange High School.  We are honored that Dr. Redding could participate.

We will have Santa on his sleigh throwing candy to the kids.  Also there are many floats, bands, and marchers that will be impressive.

We hope to see you on the 7th.

2020 for 20/20 Project

The Orange Observer ran an article yesterday about the 2020 for 20/20 Project we are working on with the Orange County Public Schools. The project has 6 high schools (Windermere, West Orange, Ocoee, Apopka, East River and Timber Creek) and 1 elementary school (Washington Shores) collecting eyeglasses, readers, and sunglasses (both prescription and regular). We are very proud of this project and can't wait to see how many pieces of eyewear is collected for reuse for those in need.

If you have any unused/unneeded eyewear lying around, please gather them up for donation. If you have/know a student at one of those schools, you can send them items in with them. Or you can drop them off at our clubhouse, 108 Taylor St, or the Ocoee Walmart Supercenter.

Thank you,

President Lion Melissa Tanner

We had a great 2019 Season and Thank you!

Hi all!

We have officially finished with the 2019 Haunt Season for the Asylum Haunted House by the Ocoee Lions Club. This has been our most successful year for the haunt. We owe that success to many people/businesses.

First, we’d like to thank you, the patrons, for coming to the event and providing your support. We hope you enjoyed it the haunt this year and that you’ll come back in 2020. The entry fee you paid will help many in the community get the eye, hearing, and diabetic medical assistance they need.

Next, we would like to thank all the businesses and community professionals that donated to our cause such as:

  • Bray Ace Hardware
  • Cariera’s Fresh Italian
  • Franco’s Pizza
  • Fun Faces Balloon Creations
  • Kimberly Holland
  • Sean O’Neil
  • Omega Knives
  • Oriental Trading Company
  • Sweet Chicks Concessions
  • Toll Road Brewery
  • Walmart Super Center in Ocoee

We could not have been as successful as this without your generous donations.

Next, we’d like to thank all of the actors and staff that donated their time and energy to make the haunt a success. They spent many tireless hours prepping and executing their roles / positions and it showed. Over the time we have become a family. We could not have asked for a better group of people.

Finally, we’d like to thank all of the Ocoee, Ormand by the Sea, and Lake Alfred Lions Club members that provided the man power for the house to be built and for support on event nights. It is such an honor to be part of such a great organization.

While the 2019 season is over we have started planning the 2020 season. We hope to see you next year.

Best Regards,

Ocoee Lions Club Haunted House Committee
